Epson R-D1 Time marches on, but wow. What a camera. Sure, I drool over the Leica M8 and think of all sorts of ways to justify such a purchase. Though it seems like there’s something missing (a soul?) compared to their previous rangefinders. I wish I could articulate what it is, but I do know it’s not because it’s digital. And it irks me that Leica’s marketing copy refers to it as a ‘future proof investment’. That may be, but it needs more time in the field, and then back to the drawing table, please.
